Keselowski First to Sweep New Hampshire

2-brad-keselowskiPenske Racing Ford driver, Brad Keselowski had a banner weekend in Louden, New Hampshire.

Saturday, Keselowski dominated the Nationwide race, qualifying on the pole, with Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide dominator Kyle Busch qualifying on the outside pole right behind Bad Brad.

At the conclusion of the Nationwide race, it was the same — Keselowski in Victory Lane with Kyle Busch as the first runner up.

Busch started on the pole of the 2014 Camping World RV Sales 301 today and Keselowski soon showed he had a strong car. The Joe Gibbs Racing cars as well, showed they had strong cars, with the No. 11, 18 and 20 all leading laps during the afternoon race.

The No. 2’s Penske Racing teammate didn’t end up as well as his teammate though. Down 14 laps, Morgan Shepherd’s no. 33 car spun, nearly taking out Clint Bowyer fighting for the lead, and collecting Joey Logano, ending his day at the track Sliced Bread got his first Cup win at.

As the race neared the end of its 301 laps, it was obvious once again that New Hampshire would end up being yet another fuel race, with only Bowyer and Brad Keselowski the only who were definitely on the right side of the equation.

A green white checkered to end the race made the fuel saving hopes of several futile — as the final caution with 4 to go extended the race laps to beyond the standard 301. Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick both went empty.

In the end, the driver who led the most laps ended up in Victory Lane. My hope was Bowyer would somehow move up on the green white checkered final restart, but instead he spun his tires, fading to a sixth place finish.

Keselowski got his third win of the 2014 season, with Kyle Busch being runner up for the second time in the New Hampshire NASCAR weekend. Keselowski’s win also meant he was presented with a broom in victory lane — being the first to sweep the Louden NASCAR weekend.
